What we have done
MBL Work report (January 2006)
The Mothers’ Bridge of Love (MBL) has become the first
quasi-INTERNATIONAL charity for Chinese culture supporting children
in 27 countries since the registration of MBL in August of 2004.
- We have successfully united with a children’s event centre in
Nanjing, China, which has 20,000 registered children at the end of
2004;
- Created an affiliate relationship with a travel agent who has
helped a lot of Western adoptive families in Nanjing at the end of
2004;

Organised thousands of children’s letters, toys and MBL Children’s
Journals to be sent to the hospitals in the tsunami affected areas
of South East Asia to support the children victims there in January
of 2005;

Established a Culture Centre in Beijing for managing MBL’s website
and children’s journal -- 10,000 copies in two issues have already
been produced and distributed by Feb of 2005;

Organised and celebrated our very first crowded Chinese New Year
event, with an attendance of more than 200 people and families in
London on the 5th of Feb 2005;

Together with Toby Eady Associates Ltd. we organised ‘Open Eyes to
China’, where Western publishers and journalist from eight
countries, met more than 150 writers, publishers and university
professors in Beijing, Nanjing and Shanghai in April of 2005;More...

From May 2nd, 2005, MBL has its first Chinese art
display: “The Walnut Series-- Sex in Chinese Culture” in Royal
China, London;

Making MBL life-plans for two disabled Chinese girls Qian Hong-Yan
and Zhang E, helping them to build up their future with MBL and
supporters.

From June 2005, MBL Beijing Cultural Centre launched a seasonal
training programme to promote the value of international charity and
voluntary works.

July 16th 2005, a family day was held in Kensington Garden, London,
with cultural activities and a children’s performance from China, with the
support of Beijing Little Angel Art School.

- A joint event celebrating the Chinese Moon
Festival was held on October 18th 2005 with three other
British Chinese societies, with MBL trustees Xinran and Emily as
guest speakers. More than 200 people attended.

events was a talk at SOAS given by Xinran about issues on modern

MBL hopes to get
more supports from you to build up the bridges between China and
West, birth culture and adoptive culture, the poor and the rich for
Chinese children all over the world.
